London pride is a prolific growing ground cover. Grows 2-3 inches tall, with a lacy pink spring bloom that is 10-12 inches.
Plants produce many rosettes of leathery, somewhat spoon-shaped leaves and in fact, they are often grown as ground covers. In spring and early summer, plants produce wiry stems topped with loose sprays of tiny white to pink flowers that are usually spotted with red.
Plant in shady to semi-shaded areas. In the garden they are most prolific in shady areas that remain reasonably moist. However, they will tolerate reasonably dry, sunny conditions.
They are not generally bothered by pests or diseases. Are reported to be deer and rabbit resistant. We have rabbits, no deer.
Plants are easily propagated from their runner-like stolons that produce new rosettes at their tips.
Each 6 inches pot has about 12 individual plants which are connected, and can be spread out to cover 12+ inches. Roots are shallow and easily moved around.
