Fall is here, time for some REAL vegetable gardening! The mild, Mediterranean climate of Victoria is perfect for all kinds of greens and root veggies! These are custom made cedar raised beds for your vegetables, flowers, ornamentals, etc. Western Red Cedar vertical planks with stained Douglas-fir cross beams and supports. Sturdy as heck, virtually indestructible, and large enough to pretty much grow anything from potatoes to peppers, cucumbers to chard, and from tulips to tomatoes. Raised beds will grow your vegetables faster, better, more uniform, and be easier to harvest and plant. Raised beds are more pest resistant, aesthetically-pleasing, and portable. Most successful urban gardeners/farmers are utilizing raised beds. Raised beds also extend your growing season on either side of winter, with longer and better fall harvests, and earlier, larger spring pickings!
Two sizes are always available, 2x4 and 2x8, both are 15" high. They take a lot of soil to fill, but the amount of vegetables you can grow in them is astonishing. As the design is modular, any size or dimension is possible so don't hesitate to ask! I also include a top plate that's made from the same triple-sanded/stained fir. Really accentuates the beds, plus prevents rain from entering the end-grain of the cedar planks. Probably adds 10+ years to the life of the bed!

I have two types of stain available right now for the cross beams, "Black Smoke" and "Red Oak".
Delivery is available anywhere in Greater Victoria (Langford, Oak Bay, Sidney, Saanich, Esquimalt, etc) for a $10 charge, or pick-up at my greenhouse is available, by appointment. The 8-foot ones are heavy, but not that crazy. I will place them wherever you want upon delivery. I only build about 20 of these per week so its first-come-first-serve, but I have them year-round, so the longest you'll have to wait is a week.
Fall veggie starters also available! Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower, Kales, Collard Greens, etc. 4" pots are $3 and 1 gallon pots are $5. 365 days/year gardening is what living in Victoria is all about!
