Well cared for E30 series car. Engine changed in 2012 at 357K and purchased and installed a low mileage engine (85K) from Duncan wrecker for $3000. Excellent compression and very responsive engine. Recently installed 2 fairly new reclining bucket seats from a BMW coupe. Also replaced all wiring to plugs and just did brakes ($1000). What works? Original AM/FM anti-theft radio, but cassette deck died about 20 years ago. All lights working, sunroof mechanisms all good. Even has a block heater! Have all maintenance records since 1991. What doesn't work? Speedometer/odometer wiring bad - was intermittent for a while and quit working last year. Back passenger door latch sometimes does not catch, so I just keep it locked and don't use it. Car lived in Winnipeg for its first couple of years so there is some body rust. Electric door locks have problems so I don't use them. Front electric windows work, but back do not.
This would be a great project for someone who would like a 'fun to drive' E30 BMW.
